FG Digital For All Initiative Pilot Phase To Start With NYSC

The Federal Government via the Ministry of State for Youth Development will pilot its first phase skills acquisition Digital for All Initiative for young Nigerians starting with NYSC Corps Members.

According to the Minister of State Youth Development, the Ministry is Promoting Partnership with NITDA to Enhance Technology Skills Acquisition for Young Nigerians.

Ayodele Olawande, the Honourable Minister of State for Youth Development
has commenced plans to collaborate with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) to drive inclusive digital skill acquisition for Nigerian youth, starting with the NYSC programme. This was made known during a meeting between the minister and NITDA executives in Abuja.

The Minister assured of his commitment towards facilitating the pilot phase of the #Digital4All initiative at all NYSC orientation camps, which he described as an excellent place to commence the initiative’s implementation.

Earlier, the Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa, shared the agency’s strategic commitment to achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda in the information and technology space through sustainable inclusion, diversification, increased productivity and human capacity building.

He also presented the Agency’s action plan for achieving 70% Digital Literacy by 2027 and the impending launch of the Digital for All (D4All) initiative.

Since the start of the year, the Office of the Honourable Minister of State for Youth Development has ramped up significant partnerships and collaborations with various public and private institutions to support value-driven, youth-oriented programmes for young people across Nigeria in entrepreneurship, social and community development, technology skills acquisition amongst others, whilst also launching the pilot phase of the Nigerian Youth Academy – an online platform dedicated to knowledge acquisition and learning for youths.
