FG, Partner World Bank And Others Begins Orientation Training For NASSSP-SU
The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in collaboration with World Bank, NCTO and NSIPA, commenced a 3 day National Orientation Training on the Social Safety-Nets Project Scales up (NASSSP-SU).
The objectives of the training are to establish a shared understanding of the NASSSP-SU Project implementation, guarantee seamless state-level cash transfer operations, and to ensure accountability and transparency during program implementation, among other things.

Dr. Michael Ajuluchuku, the National Program Manager, National Cash Transfer Office (NCTO), welcomed the attendees and gave a brief overview of the President’s six-week suspension of the social programs in January 2024. In order to lessen the impact of the loss of fuel subsidies, he also calls on Mr. President to continue supporting the program.
The Orientation program also witnessed the present of the Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation’s, ably represented by Alh. Musa Tafida (Director, Planning, Research, and Statistics), who declared the Training opened and Dr. Akindele Egbuwalo, the Ag. National Coordinator/CEO of National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA).
Thanked the World Bank and NCTO for organizing such an informative training that will help and orient Staff of NCTO, NSIPA, and the Ministry at large, in addition, Mr. Akindele also took use of the occasion to plead with H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,GCFR, to continue aiding the Ministry in carrying out social initiatives because Nigerians are in dire need of them.
The Aims of the programs is as follows:
a. Develop common understanding of NASSSP-SU Project implementations
b. Ensure smooth operations of cash transfer.
